Why Give to VONA?
As the only Multi-genre workshop for writers of color in the nation, we provide developing writers a place where they can explore their craft in an atmosphere of support and understanding, where they can exchange with great writers ideas and inspirations, where they can gain empowerment to move from VONA to a writer's life with authority and confidence. We want to make VONA available to more voices, pull people in from the margins, in from places where writing workshops aren't an everyday occurrence and give them the experience for a lifetime. VONA/Voices Summer Writing Workshops are a project of the San Francisco Foundations Community Investment Fund

Money for culture and arts has never been more scarce. You can support programs with meaning like VONA where growth is personal and professional values and traditions are reinforced, culture is cultivated. The dialogue in this country changes when new voices are included.
Two Areas of Giving are:
1. "Stronger Voices" supports the day-to-day operations of our Foundation, providing fiscal assistance for supplies, communications, support staff, and publicity.
2. "Family" provides tuition scholarships to support writers in becoming part of the VONA Family. This category also sponsors room & board and/or travel for many participants. |
